Dirt Cheap Eats, Quick and Dirty

It’s been a busy couple weeks for me, including a much-anticipated and beautiful wedding extravaganza. So I’m just now getting around to working my way though the giant stack of magazines sitting by my bed. After numerous US Weeklys (this girl’s got priorities), I finally came to this month’s Washingtonian. And it’s all about deals. Since I’m an eater who can’t turn down a deal, this hit me in my sweet spot. And many of you must not get the print version of Washingtonian since I did not get nearly as many congratulatory emails when I was in the magazine as thought I would (hello! I even showered that day!), so I will now summarize and supplement for you:

Happy Hour Deals

• Dino - FREE antipasti, drinks are 25% off, and three ounce pours are $3-$9 (Sunday-Friday, 5:30pm-7:00pm)
• Johnny’s Half Shell - Draft beers are $5.50, deals galore on small plates (Weeknights, 4:30pm-7:30pm)
• Vidalia - FREE apps, wine specials between $7 and $9 a glass (Weeknights, 5:00pm-7:00pm)
• DC Coast - Half price bar menu (Daily, 3:00pm-6:00pm)
• Blacksalt - Deals on drinks and dishes (Served only in the bar and cafe, daily, 4:00pm-7:00pm)
• Acadiana - “Big Easy Happy Hour”: $5 cocktails and half price bar menu (Weeknights, 3:30pm-6:30pm)

Lunch Deals

• Grapeseed - Two course meal, an appetizer and main course, for $12 (Tuesday-Friday)
• Hook - Three course meal, $24 with some upcharges (Tuesday-Friday, 11:30am-2:30pm)
• Kinkead’s - A sandwich and soup for $12 (served only at the bar and in the cafe, weekdays from 11:30am-2:30pm)
• Vidalia - A three course tasting menu for $19.90 (Weekdays, 11:30am-2:30pm)
• Charlie Palmer Steak - Three course shortened menu, $25 (Monday-Friday, 11:30am-2:30pm)
• Villa Mozart - Three course menu, $18 (Monday-Friday, 11:30am-2:30pm)
• The Majestic - The “Royal Pick” special: an entree and drink, for $12 (Weekdays, 11:30am-2:30pm)
• Proof - The “Lunch Crush” special: an entree and a glass of wine for $12 (served at the bar, weekdays from 11:30am to 2:00pm)
• Restaurant Eve - The “Lickity Split” Lunch: any two dishes from a menu of apps, entrees, drinks and desserts for $13.50 (served at the bar only, weekdays from 11:30am until 4:00pm)
• Vermilion - The “Intern Special” - green salad, cup of soup and half a sandwich for $11 (weekdays from 11:30am-3:00pm)
• Teatro Goldoni - One entree and a glass of wine for $13.95 (served at the bar, weekdays from 11:30am-2:00pm)
• The Prime Rib - Daily lunch specials from $15-$18, as well as the three-course $24.95 meal consisting of soup or salad, an entree and dessert (Weekdays, 11:30am-3:00pm)

Pre-Theater Meals

• Acadiana - Three courses off a shortened menu, $29 (daily, 5:30pm-6:30pm)
• Bourbon Steak - Three course menu, $59 (Sunday-Thursday at 6:00pm, Friday and Saturday at 5:30pm)
• Marcels - Three course menu, includes car service to the Kennedy Center, $85 with wine pairings and $52 without (Daily)
• Poste - Three course menu from a shortened menu, $35.09 (Daily, 5:00pm-6:30pm)
• Rasika - Three courses off a shortened menu, $30 (Monday-Friday 5:30pm-6:30pm, Saturday 5:00pm-6:30pm)
• Circle Bistro - Three course menu, $35 (Daily, 5:00pm-7:00pm)
